"AMERICAS SWEETHEARTS" staring Julia Roberts, Billy Crystal, John Cusak and Catherine Zeta Jones.Filmed on location at the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort this new movie will be a summer blockbuster. The Hyatt, in association with Sony Pictures, has chosen Poker Runs West to hold its annual Hot Rod Run there
October 25-28, 2001 as an on going celebration of the film "AMERICA’S SWEETHEARTS." What could be more natural than beautiful boats and sweethearts. They. are an American tradition.Fifty of the top Poker Run Teams from around the country will have an opportunity to experience the fabulous Hyatt Resort, partake in the celebration of this new film, run their state of the art performance boats on beautiful Lake Mead, catch racing action at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and take in the world famous SEMA show.
The SEMA show showcases the automotive after market performance parts, hot rod equipment, and new concept cars and trucks from around the world. If you are into performance this is the show for you.
This event is open to performance boats of every size. The field of fifty will be determined by the date of registration with preference given to teams active in performance boating events as well as those who have unique and spectacular boats. Every attempt will be made to include all teams who exhibit the spirit and camaraderie associated with fast fun on the water regardless of the size or value of their boat.
Promoters of poker runs around the country are being contacted by Poker Runs West seeking out their suggestions of which teams from their area they feel best represent the spirit, enthusiasm and commitment to fast, safe fun on the water.
